Fr & Frls Insulated Building Wires


Largely used in residential and commercial buildings for power distribution purposes, our cables are most trusted by contractors and builders. Fixed them in walls or embed in plaster, these wires will start showing the miracle whenever they are used.

High concentration electricity consumption has always stood in relation to short-circuits, which can cause a lot of havoc and chaos. Orton Cables in-house PVC is manufactured with additives that add enhanced fire retardant properties to eradicate this danger. Normally, 25% PVC is used in FR & FRLS wires but Orton Cables has come out with wires that instill 30% PVC in these wires, adding a slightly uppish security and efficiency to fire-fighting.

The special compounds used in our wires promises high insulation resistance and dielectric strength that sheaths your house declining the spread of fire even at a very massive temperature. Our FR & FRLS PVC can withstand high temperature and have a very high oxygen index.

Critical Oxygen Index To determine the percentage of oxygen
required for supporting combustion of
sheathing material at room temperature.
ASTM-D-2863 Minimum oxygen index of 29.
Temperature Index To determine at what temperature normal oxygen content of 21% in air will support combustion of sheathing material. ASTM-D-2863 & BICC Hand Book Chapter No.6 Minimum temperature index of 250deg. C.
Smoke Density To determine the visibility (light transmission) under fire of sheathing material. ASTM-D-2843 Minimum average light transmission of 40%

Flammability test on group of cables To determine flame propagation of cables in installed conditions. IEEE-383 In total 20 minutes of burning the 8 feet long cable sample at a temperature of 1500*F the burning of cable shall not go up to the top.
